our story

Hostal San Juan is a small and elegant colonial style hotel of two floors located in Old Havana, in the Cathedral municipality.

Built in the early 20th century, the hostal was completely renovated in 2014 to restore its magnificent original Havana beauty. The restoration was carried out with absolute respect to the original architecture and style of the building.
Thus, all ceilings are five meters high. They are decorated with mouldings, ceilings ornament and antique glass lamps. French carpentry inspired cedar doors showcase wooden made shutters and solid bronze door handles. The floors are made of Spanish tiles with typical designs and the stairs are Italian white marble.
All these remarkable features make the Hostal San Juan an authentic and genuine Havana style hotel.

It is an ideal, safe and comfortable place for a memorable immersion in the life, culture and fantastic history of a UNESCO - classified World heritage site.

The San Juan Hostal offers great comfort and security to its customers. It has a private street entrance that gives access to the four rooms located on the second floor. There are a total of 11 balconies with 8 balconies that directly overlook the street (one private balcony in every room). The Hostal offers three living rooms all reserved for the exclusive use of guests.

The first living room is furnished with sofas and coffee tables for the guests to relax. The second living room features a colonial hardwood mahogany dining table that can accommodate up to 8 people for gastronomic breakfasts and dinners.

In the third living room you will find a nice bar to chat, have a drink or enjoy a snack of the house. The two impressive skylights of the building were completely restored with natural stones to accommodate interior tropical gardens. Finally the 150 square meters roof terrace offers a 270 degrees panoramic view of Havana. Ideal for catching the sun, taking pictures and enjoying a tasty mojito after a day of discovery in Old Havana.

Accommodation

THE ROOMS

Hostal San Juan has 4 spacious rooms each with a private bathroom and a balcony overlooking the street. The beds are double (optional single for triple occupancy) including bedding, sheets and towels.

One room can be converted into a suite of two rooms to accommodate up to 4 people (ex. A couple with two children)

All rooms have air conditioning built into the wall (split), wall mounted ventilator and cold-hot water. Cleaning is done daily.

Prices on demand start at 60 CUC (60$ US) per night, double occupancy depending on the season.
